The Countryside Restoration Trust: Margaret Wood

News

The 2007 open day has been fixed for May 12th.  This is one of the best times to visit the wood as it is carpeted with bluebells. Please come and pay us a visit I am sure you will enjoy the experience.  A list of working days has been put on the events page. If you are unable to visit in May you are welcome to come on any of the working days for a look round - there is no obligation to work.  If you are coming for the day you need to bring a picnic but we can supply hot drinks.

We have now planted a large number of new trees in the wood over the last few years.  These are now starting to grow and change the appearance of the wood

We are planning to add to the nest boxes nest boxes in the wood.  The addition of the nest boxes has boosted the number of birds seen in the wood.

Each winter we clean out the old nesting material from the boxes this  enables us to see whether they have been used over the past year.  Unfortunately the boxes are attacked by squirrels and woodpeckers so we have to repair them each year.

If you wish to contact someone from Margaret Wood you can phone John Dunn on 01777818732 or e-mail jcdunn23@aol.com
